PARTICIPATION OF THE REPRESENTATIVE OF TURKMENISTAN IN THE ONLINE CONFERENCE TIMED TO THE WORLD OCEANS DAY

On June 4, 2020, the online Conference timed to the World Oceans Day entitled “The Blue Economy and COVID-19 Pandemic: New challenges, recovery measures and resilience” took place.  The Turkmen side was represented at this event by the Director of the Institute of the Caspian Sea M.Atajanov. 

The main organizer of the given Conference was the International Ocean Institute.  During the Conference, the participants were acquainted with the results of the research on the impacts of the new type coronavirus on the “blue economy” and the World Ocean, including the negative effects on the seaside countries and islands.       

The exchange of views took place on the issues related to the restoration of social, economic and ecological situation in the given regions.  As is known, Turkmenistan pays special attention to the issues of ecology protection, taking active part in the international initiatives.
