A REGULAR MEETING OF THE CIS ECONOMIC COUNCIL WAS HELD IN VIDEO CONFERENCING FORMAT
On June 30, 2020, the 86th meeting of the Economic Council of the Commonwealth of Independent States was held in video conferencing format. At the meeting, the Turkmen delegation was represented by the Deputy Minister of Finance and Economics of Turkmenistan.
During the meeting, priority directions of the interstate trade and economic partnership were discussed, as well as issues of strengthening the regulatory framework of mutually beneficial partnership between the countries of the Commonwealth. Also within the framework of the meeting, a constructive exchange of views took place on the socio-economic situation of the CIS member states and possible collective measures to minimize the negative impact caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Within the framework of the meeting, issues related to the ongoing work on the creation of exhibition trade centers of the CIS member states in Moscow in the territory of the Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy, including the implementation of the Concept for the formation and development of the intellectual property market of the CIS member states, approved by the Decision of the Council of Heads of Governments of the CIS, on October 28, 2016.
The participants of the meeting were presented various draft documents, including an Action Plan for the implementation of the Strategy for ensuring transport security in the territories of the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States when carrying out international traffic for the period 2020–2025, an Action Plan for implementing the Concept of Cooperation between the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States in the field of combating cancer diseases on 2020-2024, and etc.
As a result of the discussions of issues on the agenda of the meeting, a number of documents regulating the interaction of the parties in various areas of comprehensive cooperation were signed.
