Balkan Shipyard diversifies the production

Balkan Shipyard OJSC increase the rates of work. Since it was opened, the facility has already repaired 24 vessels, carried out average complexity maintenance work on 24 vessels at berth and 23 ships have undergone intermediate maintenance.

The shipyard is designated for overall maintenance of big and small crafts. It has a system for launching and maintenance of ships up to 10,000 tons of deadweight and building of 4 – 6 ships per year. The shipyard has all capabilities for construction of oil tankers, offshore platforms, tug boats, crafts as well as various steel constructions, equipment for industrial sectors. In addition, the facility has a capacity for processing of 200 tons of steel for repair of 20 – 30 ships.

The shipyard is provided with high technological plasma and combined equipment for cutting of steel plates. It has production lines for assembly of big size blocks, abrasive cleaning and painting of hulls, robotized transportation system of details that have been treated by plasma cutting as well as turbo machines. The shipyard has loading/offloading dock and number of auxiliary workshops such as maintenance, fitting, boiler, etc. In addition to ship maintenance, other profile works are also carried out.

The Balkan Shipyard works as an independent facility since May last year.in future, its planned to build vessels for merchant fleet of our country.

According to seven-year Programme of social and economic development of Turkmenistan, it is planned to build 12 ships until 2025. It was a subject of discussion of the management of Turkmenbashy International Seaport, the Balkan Shipyard OJSC with representatives of the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan, Russian Federation and top management of Ak Bars Shipbuilding Corporation JV, A. M. Gorky Zelenodal Plant. The sides have expressed the willingness to activate partnership in the sphere of construction of bulk cargo vessels.
