GDP growth in Turkmenistan exceeded 6 percent in 8 months of 2021

The growth of the gross domestic product of Turkmenistan for eight months of 2021 amounted to 6.2 percent. The results of the country's socio-economic development for the reporting period were considered at a meeting of the government of Turkmenistan.

It was noted at the meeting that compared to the same period last year, production in general increased by 5.5 percent, the volume of retail trade increased by 17 percent, and the volume of foreign trade turnover - by 9.6 percent. The revenue side of the State budget was executed at the level of 114.5 percent, and the expenditure side - 97.5 percent.

For large and medium-sized enterprises, the average monthly wages compared to the same period last year are higher by 10.5 percent. Wages, pensions, government benefits and student scholarships were funded on time.
