Turkmenistan is preparing to the UN Climate Change Conference

Turkmenistan is preparing to participate in the UN Climate Change Conference (COP26), which will be held in Glasgow from 31 October to 12 November.

Thus, within the support to the government of the country in the implementation of development projects in the area of environment and climate change, the British Embassy in Turkmenistan and United Nations Development Program organized the online meeting of partners. In the course of the meeting the participants became acquainted with the preparing of the nationally determined contribution (NDC), current program activity in Turkmenistan in the furtherance of achievement of the national priorities in climate change.

The participants of the national ministries and departments joined the discussion on preparing of the nationally determined contribution (NDC), developed at present in coordination with UNDP in Turkmenistan, and informed the participants about the preparing of the visit of the high-level Turkmen delegation to summit in Glasgow.

The participants also became acquainted with the Final summary of initiatives of the Turkmen youth, which will be presented at the Climate Charge Conference of Youth (COY16).
