Convention between Turkmenistan and Japan for the Elimination of Double Taxation with Respect to Taxes on Income will enter into force

On November 27, 2025, the “Convention between Turkmenistan and Japan for the elimination of double taxation with respect to taxes on income and the prevention of tax evasion and avoidance” will enter into force.

This document was signed during the 15th joint meeting of the Turkmen-Japanese and Japanese-Turkmen groups on Economic Cooperation held in Ashgabat on December 16, 2024.

As a result of the exchange of official diplomatic notes on October 28, 2025, this Convention will enter into force on November 27, 2025.

The new document will serve to expand investment and economic cooperation between the two countries, as well as to create more transparent and stable tax conditions for the relevant enterprises and individuals operating there.
