President of Turkmenistan had a telephone conversation with Prime Minister of Japan
President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov had a telephone conversation with Prime Minister of Japan Shinzō Abe.
Cordially greeting each other, the Turkmen leader and the head of the Japanese Government expressed satisfaction with the opportunity to discuss the status and prospects of interstate relations based on the principles of mutual respect and mutual goodwill of the parties.
Thanking Prime Minister Shinzō Abe for the constant attention and support paid to strengthening the traditionally friendly Turkmen-Japanese dialogue, which in recent years has acquired new dynamics and has steadily developed, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that regular contacts established at the highest level provided a reliable foundation for the further enhancement of efficient cooperation.
Continuing the telephone conversation, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Prime Minister Shinzō Abe expressed satisfaction with the productive cooperation between Turkmenistan and Japan both in a bilateral format and in the international arena, as vividly proved by mutual support for constructive initiatives and proposals put forward within the framework of authoritative organizations of the global and regional scale.
The activation of trade and economic relations stands as one of the priority directions of the Turkmen-Japanese partnership. In this context, it was emphasized that due to joint efforts, at present, interstate economic cooperation had acquired a strategic, sustainable and long-term character.
That is vividly proved by successfully implemented projects for the construction of modern oil and gas and gas chemical complexes in Turkmenistan. According to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Turkmenistan will continue providing support to the work of Japanese companies in our country and create favorable conditions for investment activity.
It was also emphasized that recently, cooperation in the humanitarian and cultural sphere has dynamically developed, which is an important factor in bringing the peoples of the two states closer together, strengthening the ties of friendship and mutual understanding between them. In this regard, the interlocutors underlined the importance of further expansion of the established fruitful educational and scientific contacts, including in the field of education and training of Turkmen specialists.
Noting that our country took the message of Mr. Shinzō Abe’s resignation as Prime Minister for health reasons with understanding, the Turkmen leader thanked Mr. Shinzō Abe for the active joint work and great personal contribution to the development of interstate relations. At the same time, it was confirmed the interest of Turkmenistan in the progressive strengthening of interstate dialogue and willingness for constructive cooperation with the new Government of the Land of the Rising Sun.
Expressing gratitude for the kind words, Prime Minister Shinzō Abe thanked President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for the proactive position and constant support of bilateral cooperation, which resulted in the implementation of many projects in Turkmenistan with the participation of Japanese companies.
The Prime Minister of Japan noted that he recalled his visit to Turkmenistan with special warmth. According to Mr. Shinzō Abe, his visit to Turkmenistan made an indelible impression on him, and of course, magnificent Ahalteke horses, unsurpassed in beauty and grace, aroused special admiration.
Expressing confidence that his successor as Prime Minister of Japan will continue to develop bilateral relations of friendship and cooperation in every possible way, Mr. Abe once again thanked the Turkmen leader for the attention paid to interstate cooperation and strengthening friendly contacts at the highest level.
At the end of the telephone conversation, which took place in a confidential, friendly atmosphere, the President of Turkmenistan and the Prime Minister of Japan wished all the best to each other and the peoples of the both countries.
